HSMF 100 at Helsinki Music Hall

Young Finnish composer Sebastian Hilli won the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award with his first orchestral composition. The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra has the honour of premiering his latest work, Affekt, which will be conducted by our Chief Conductor Emeritus Leif Segerstam. Affekt was composed to mark the 100th anniversary of Helsingfors sång- och musikförbund and will be performed by a choir of over a hundred singers together with the orchestra. The lyrics are by Mårten Westö and examine the emotional states caused by parting from the perspective of both parties, reflecting the feelings aroused by longing, separation and memories.

On October 20th at 7 PM Lyran is participating in the concert at Helsinki Music Hall.
